SUBJECT: INLINE FUSE KIT - UPDATE TO PAH60 [Models: PAH60GW / PAH60GX / PAH60UN]
If you have not already disconnected the power cable from the PAH60 to the battery, please do so immediately as a precaution. If you know someone who has this product installed, please notify them as well.
LATEST UPDATE:
Component selection and testing is now complete and the INLINE FUSE KIT has entered the manufacturing stage. Thereafter, shipments will begin going out to customers that have responded with their addresses in approximately 1-2 weeks.
No receipt is necessary for this kit as long as you have a PAH60 installed on your bike!
This will be a 10AWG inline 40 Amp fuse kit to be installed on the "RED" power cable from the PAH60 that connects to the battery. This kit does not require soldering.
Alternatively, if you are unable to wait and are comfortable with soldering/crimping, you can obtain similar parts at the local auto parts/electronics store. The cable must be 10AWG and the fuse rated at 40 amps. The fuse would need to be installed closer to the battery side. 3-4 inches of heat shrink tubing is necessary to protect the added wiring for both options below:
- HEAT SHRINK: 3-4 inches of heat shrink tubing is necessary to protect the added wiring.
- ELECTRICAL TAPE over heat shrink tube: If a heat gun is not available, you can use electrical tape to wrap over the heat shrink tubing. Heat shrink tubing should be placed over the new connection, then carefully wrap with electrical tape. Be sure to wrap starting from the cable going across the entire connection and the heat shrink wrap, and back onto the cable.
These two alternatives are strictly for those who cannot wait to receive the updated inline fuse kit.
The INLINE FUSE KIT will begin shipping out in approximately 1-2 weeks.
In the meantime, the PAH60 unit should be disconnected from the battery.
